It’s hard to say where Idaho’s football team will be. Will the Vandals be a viable independent program at the Bowl Subdivision level? Will they end up with an invite to the same Mountain West conference that snubbed them a few months back? Will they be back to playing the Griz and the Cats in the Big Sky?

For now, the Vandals will forge ahead as an FBS independent, after getting approval from Idaho’s Board of Education to do so. Idaho athletic director Rob Spear (Go Maroons!) called it an “experiment,” so I guess we’ll check back in a couple years.
