Silly Season Part CXII

On Wednesday Tennessee dismissed standout cornerback Janzen Jackson from its football team, but lest you think team turmoil is limited to the Southeastern Conference, there’s this: Griz tight end Kavario Middleton was charged with DUI in June.

There are a couple things that strike you about the incident, which was originally reported by Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times: That is happened on June 6, but UM coach Robin Pflugrad apparently didn’t know the severity of it until Friday; and that Middleton’s arraignment is set for Sept. 3. That’s a Saturday, and it’s the date the Montana Grizzlies open their football season at Tennessee.

Condotta and I were both surprised to learn that Saturday morning arraignments are pretty commonplace, at least in Seattle.

More news will be reported as it arrives.

Hello, I am a Tennessee alumnus and looking forward to our matchup this Saturday. I’ve been trying to get in touch with Montana fans making the trip to invite them for tailgating. If anyone is interested, email address is cah_vols@hotmail.com. We’ll have food and drinks available. Hopefully you’ll find the majority of Vol fans to be very respectful and hospitable. Always the outliers so please ignore them. I have great respect for your program and only hope that our team does too or it could be a long night for us.

Hey Carl, I’m a huge collage football fan and It’s because of the University of Montana. I believe collage football is one of the many things right with America.
I had every intention of attenting this seasons opener with Tennessee, that is until last January when I found out I’ll be taking my fourth trip to combat in the Middle East (Afghanistan).
I’ll be in the States for the game but just unable to attend. I deploy shortly after and will miss the rest of the season.
I’m reaching back at you….to shake your hand for your offer and if you don’t mind how about a toast… To the boys of fall.

    Ron
