I got a chance to watch part of Saturday’s Texas vs. The Nation all-star football game, specifically the third quarter, and Shann Schillinger was in there running around.

The Baker product ended up with three assisted tackles for the Nation, in a 36-17 loss to Texas in the 4-year-old game. Not great numbers, but these game’s are in a lot of ways academic: The players go to the site – in this case, El Paso, Texas – for a week of practice and one-on-ones with NFL scouts. And amany of the scouts take off before the actual game.

It was still cool to see the silver Griz helmet over his white No. 39 jersey.
